ABOUT US

Stone Lantern Films is an independent, non-profit production company founded in 1986 by sisters-in-law Sarah Mondale and Sarah Patton. Most of our award-winning documentaries have been broadcast nationally on public television. Weaving together striking imagery with compelling fact-based stories, our best known films aim to raise awareness about issues crucial to our democracy. SLF’s award-winning work includes BACKPACK FULL OF CASH narrated by Matt Damon, SCHOOL: The Story of American Public Education, a 4-hour PBS series narrated by Meryl Streep, and the Emmy-nominated ASYLUM.
